Hemkund Sahib Ji, situated at an altitude of 15,200 feet, is a revered Sikh pilgrimage site known for its tranquil surroundings and pristine lake. Badrinath Ji, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas. Hemkund Sahib (also spelled Hemkunt), formally known as Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Ji, is a Sikh place of worship and pilgrimage site in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, India. It is devoted to Guru Gobind Singh (1666–1708), the tenth Sikh Guru, and finds mention in Dasam Granth. With its setting of a glacial lake surrounded by seven mountain peaks, each adorned by a Nishan Sahib on its cliff, it is according to the Survey of India located in the Garhwal Himalaya at an elevation of 4,160 meters (13,650 feet). It is approached from Govindghat on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. The main town near Gobindghat is Joshimath. The altitude of the lake at Hemkund is approximately 13,650 feet.
Kedarnath: Set In The Beautiful Mandakini Valley, Cupped By Lofty Peaks, The Majestic Kedarnath Temple Stands On A Glacial Terrace, Remnant Of An Ancient Glacier – Long Since Melted. This Is Lord Shiv’s Territory – And The Region Is A Living Testimony To His Adventures And Exploits. The Temple Is Believed To Have Been Built By The Pandavs, Protagonists Of The Mahabharata, As A Tribute To Lord Shiv Having Forgiven Them For Fratricide After An Exciting Chase Through The Himalayas. The Journey To Kedarnath – The Most Significant Of The 12 Jyotirlings Located In Different Parts Of India — Is To Relive These Ancient Tales And Legends, And To Become One With God.
Badrinath: The Badrinath Shrine Is Believed To Be As Old As Time Itself. Dedicated To Lord Vishnu, This Temple Was Re-Established By Adi Shankaracharya In The 8th Century As Part Of His Mission To Revitalize Hinduism. Located On The Banks Of The Rishi Ganga (Alaknanda), The Temple, And The Numerous Ancient Sites Around It, Is Indeed A Worthy Goal To Aim For. The Last 11 Kilometers To Badrinath Is A Steep Ascent. At Devdarshni, The Vista Of The Entire Badrinath Valley Appears Before You – The Township, The Magnificent Façade Of The Temple And The Twin Peaks Nar And Narayan As If Standing Guard On Its Either Side, And The Neelkanth Shining Like A Crown On Its Head! And Immediately You Feel The Spiritual Upliftment That Such A Magnificent Site Inspires.
Important Note:
- The above-mentioned timings are not final. Timings may differ on your date of travel, depending up on the take-off time from Sahastradhara,which depends on weather conditions, clearance from Air Force & Civil Aviation, VVIP movements, valley flying by Indian Air Force (NOTAM), sudden occurrence of technical snag in helicopter, illness of flying crew & delayed reporting of the guests at the helipads. Also, guests are requested to have some fruits before boarding flight in the morning.
- Morning take-off from Sahastradhara Helidrome in Dehradun by 06:00 hrs to Ghangaria. Guests are advised to reach Sahastradhara heliport by 05:30 hrs. [In case flight is getting delayed due to NOTAM/delayed clearances/bad weather etc., we shall convey to the guests in advance, so that they may report accordingly to the Sahastradhara Helidrome].
- On arrival at Ghangaria Helipad we will drop the guest and take off to Govindghat Helipad for parking the helicopter and will fly back from Govindghat Helipad to Ghangaria Helipad for picking up the guest after the visit of Hemkund Saheb.
- Guests have to finish your darshan and return back to Ghangaria Helipad by 01.30 pm.
- On landing back at Sahastradhara Helipad, our manager will receive you and take you to lobby area where your yatra concludes.
